Green Dreaming of an Underground River: Payoff coming in TWoW?

This will be an analysis of the underground river that runs through Brynden “Bloodraven” Rivers’s weirwood cave in A Song of Ice and Fire. We first officially learn of its presence when Bran, Jojen, Meera and Hodor first approach Bloodraven’s weirwood throne in A Dance with Dragons, Bran II. I will look at the river’s possible connection to Gorne’s Way and why this river might be important, not least because Jojen appears to dreamed of it all the way back in Bran’s final chapter of A Storm of Swords.

The Brandor Conundrum: Thinking about Bran’s story in ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’

Bran has always fascinated me and something that has always struck a chord with me is whether he is on the verge of becoming morally corrupt due to the influence of Bloodraven or his own choices. I understand why the debate circles around Hodor so much particularly their relationship in terms of Hodor being one of Bran’s “skins” and how they might be changing each other as a result despite the very practice being, as Haggon would tell Varamyr, “abomination”.

The Colour Blue and Young Griff’s Hair

I wished to test the fringe hypothesis of Young Griff (Aegon, sometimes referred to as f!Aegon or Faegon in the community) might be the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark in George R. R. Martin’s book series, A Song of Ice and Fire. This is by no means a popular theory though it received some traction after the video series made by ‘The Order of the Green Hand’ (TOofGH) on YouTube, a channel I myself am fond of and watch frequently. The theory itself relies heavily on what many non-believers identify as a non-sequitur. and justifiably so, that “the colour blue” is only associated with Lyanna. Having looked into the matter I reasonably dismissed this interpretation and wished to share my findings.

A Brief Statement on the Capitol Attack

Dear Reader, I hope you are all (still) staying safe in these troubled times. Honestly, since the British Government announced its third national lockdown, I have been on edge. Anxiety-wise, I have always been a martyr to hypochondria and paranoia. Even though I have to date not displayed any coronavirus symptoms that doesn’t stop meContinue reading “A Brief Statement on the Capitol Attack”

An Era Is Ending, And So Is The World

In keeping with my love of gifs for levity, tonight I shall be using the wonderful Phoebe Buffay from Friends. This will be a quick update on the ‘State of Affairs’. Further to my posts from the other day, my deletion of FanFiction.Net (henceforth ‘FF.Net’) of all my works is now more or less complete.Continue reading “An Era Is Ending, And So Is The World”
